Oh, baby!

Two New Jersey cops delivered some serious roadside assistance Monday morning when they helped deliver a female infant on the side of the highway.

At 4:14 a.m., the expecting mom was enroute to

Valley Hospital

in Ridgewood, New Jersey, when she realized she wouldn't make it to the emergency room in time, according to

New Jersey State Police

.

The soon-to-be mother and her husband pulled to the right shoulder of Garden State Parkway North in Hillside Township, where they proceeded to call 911.

State troopers Alex Muro and Arnaldo Mateo arrived at the scene within minutes – the only medical equipment they had were surgical gloves.

"We walk through the doors every day not knowing what to expect. I definitely didn't expect to be delivering a baby!" Trooper Alex Muro told

NBC New York

.

The delivery was captured on the troopers'

dash cam

, where the pair can be heard soothing and instructing the woman as she gives birth in her car.

"1…2…3… push!"

"There you go, keep going!"

"Breathe, breathe, breathe, breathe…"

"There we go!"

"Pull the cord."

"It's a girl!"

"There you go, here mom."

At approximately 4:26 a.m. Trooper Mateo held the newborn – identified as Rachel – and wrapped the baby girl in clothing found on the floor of the car.

"I saw a jacket on the floor. We just kind of instinctively grabbed it, wrapped it around the baby, just to be sure she was warm," Muro told the news outlet.

Both troopers are fathers, but the partners say they never thought they would be that up close and personal with the delivery of a child.

"It was just one of those moments where we had to respond and we did our jobs," Mateo told NBC New York.

Welcome to the world, baby Rachel!
